Ohio Statewide State Park Campground Improvements
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) through the Division of Parks and Watercraft is responsible for the management of 60 campground facilities located in state parks throughout the State of Ohio. A large Ohio initiative has been passed to improve state park facilities and lodges statewide in a push to bring more tourism to Ohio.
These improvements include upgrading existing campgrounds to provide modern conveniences for RVs including electrical service, potable water and sanitary sewer hookups as well as necessary upgrades to restroom, shower and laundry facilities.
Many of the campgrounds also want to offer expanded visitor experiences and wish to include camp stores, campground offices for camper check-in/check-out, children's play areas, swimming pool facilities, access points for fishing and boating, and fish cleaning stations.
CTI has been working closely with ODNR since 2000, often improving water and wastewater facilities throughout the parks. The purpose of this project was to upgrade and construct 144 new premium campsites with sanitary sewer, potable water, and 50 amp electric pedestals at 11 state parks: Caesar Creek, Delaware, Hocking Hills Horse Camp, Kiser Lake, Lake Loramie, Shawnee, Geneva, Pymatuning, Mosquito, Dillon, and Lake Hope.
Renovations to 9 existing shower house facilities at Lake Loramie, Stonelick, Pymatuning, Dillon, Mohican, Lake Hope, Hocking Hills and installation of 7 new prefabricated shower house buildings at East Harbor, Harrison Lake, Mosquito Lake, Lake Hope, Tar Hollow, and Pike Lake.
A new swimming pool with water slide, restroom/commissary building and pool pump/equipment building were also included at Grand Lake St Marys State Park.
