We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Civil Engineering Co-op Student to join our team for a hands-on learning experience. As part of our team, you will work closely with experienced engineers and other professionals on a variety of infrastructure, environmental, and construction projects. This position is ideal for students pursuing a degree in civil engineering or a related field and looking to gain practical, real-world experience in the industry.
Responsibilities
Assist in the design, analysis, and preparation of civil engineering projects, including water resources, environmental, and land development projects.
Support senior engineers in the preparation of drawings, calculations, and reports for various projects using industry-standard software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, etc.).
Conduct site visits to observe construction activities and ensure compliance with engineering plans and specifications.
Perform field data collection, surveying, and soil/water testing to assist in the development of project designs.
Participate in team meetings and collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure project objectives are met.
Assist in the review of project documents, including construction plans, technical reports, and engineering specifications.
Help prepare cost estimates, project schedules, and bid documents as needed.
Learn and adhere to company safety procedures and industry regulations.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
A minimum of two years of completed coursework in civil engineering or relevant subjects.
Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit or other engineering design software is preferred.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
Previous internship or co-op experience in civil engineering is a plus but not required.
