CTI is seeking a Civil Engineering CAD Technician for its Nashville, TN office. Working under a variety of Project Managers, this position will be responsible for CAD design using AutoCAD Civil 3D and field services as needed.

Headquartered in Chattanooga, Tennessee, CTI Engineers, Inc., is an employee-owned consulting firm with a 50-person staff, specializing in water, wastewater, site development, solid waste, and environmental engineering. The primary focus is municipal infrastructure.

Candidate will be responsible for managing the setup and preparation of detailed project drawings during planning and design and work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, and other Technicians to provide drawings on schedule. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, able to work decisively and independently, possess a strong willingness to collaborate with other team members, and willing to take on responsibility. An engaged and driven technician who will respond positively and enthusiastically to training to stay current with technology.

  • Work closely with assigned engineer(s) to assist in development of designs and preparation of studies and reports. Civil 3D and Revit experience preferred.
  • Prepare drawings, figures, or base maps using CAD methods
  • Assist in field surveys and reduction of field survey data. Will require travel over uneven and sloping surfaces
  • Serve as a resident project representative on construction projects as needed. Will require entry into excavations and manholes
  • Assist in preparing quantity take-offs for cost estimates
  • Interpret, manipulate, and plot field survey and topographic data
  • Develop and utilize three-dimensional terrain models to produce cross-sections and volume computations.
  • Prepare easement and property descriptions and drawings. Obtain deed and tax map information as needed
  • Associates degree in drafting/design and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (ability to work effectively with clients, regulators/reviewers, peers, support staff)
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must present valid United States work authorization (required)
