55th Street Stormwater and Sidewalk Project

Many unique challenges involve merely getting from point A to point B safely. CTI has engineered solutions from pedestrian bridges to making dangerous intersections safer to streetscape beautification projects. Other challenges arise from other work being performed, such as the relocation of utility lines. In each case, CTI's team has worked to ensure necessary infrastructure improvements get completed, while working to ensure the safety of a city's residents and visitors.

Chickamauga City School Sidewalks

In this small historic town, many students live within walking distance of the elementary, middle, and high schools located in the central business district. The school system does not operate school buses, and until recently there were no sidewalks. This led to traffic congestion and potential safety hazards.

CTI designed approximately 1/2-mile of 5-foot-wide sidewalk along Highway 166 in Fulton, Kentucky. The sidewalk was planned to provide residents of an assisted living facility, many of whom use wheelchairs or scooters, access to the commercial district without traveling in the roadway. This road crosses two streams via box culverts. Initially, the plan was to lengthen these culverts to accommodate the sidewalks.
