Lookout Mountain Multi-Use Pathway
- Project Type:
The natural and historic resources of Lookout Mountain attract large volumes of vehicular and pedestrian traffic to this small mountaintop community.
The narrow, winding roadways contribute to the picturesque character but do not provide adequate safety for walkers, runners, and bikers who share the road with vehicles. Rock walls and utilities limit the amount of construction that can be done adjacent to the roadway.
After an evaluation of alternatives, CTI designed an asphalt pathway along East Brow Road to improve safety and access for residents and tourists. The pathway is designed to connect with a system of trails and roads linking scenic and historic features.
